A KIRRA Beach fast food outlet has slammed Gold Coast City Council in the most cheeky way possible.
Pizza Hut at the Kirra Beach Hut has announced the date it will close while taking a swipe at council’s plans to remove the franchisee after its long term lease came to an end.
A sign, illustrated with a crying emoji has been placed outside the restaurant, setting the closure date for July 14th.
“Gold Coast City Council no longer wants us here,” it reads.

The Council’s controversial decision to deny an extended lease has upset many residents who say Pizza Hut, which has occupied the Beach Pavilion for more than 40 years, was part of the character of the area and one of only a few options when it comes to budget dining.
Instead the site will be tendered as an alternate dining venue, set to be revealed later this year.

The Kirra Surf Lifesaving Club had also petitioned to take over the venue.
Pizza Hut franchise owner Tom Snigh told the Bulletin earlier this month he was frustrated with the process, which will result in redundancies for 30 staff member.
