DESPITE pleas from residents and a petition calling for more bus stops in Pimpama, the State Government has refused to commit to more.
Yesterday, the Bulletin reported that one of the Gold Coast’s fastest growing suburbs has just two bus stops along their busiest road, Yawalpah Road.

It means residents who use public transport, including the disabled and elderly, must walk kilometres before reaching a stop.
Readers shared their frustration, with 92.68 per cent of poll takers agreeing that the ballooning suburb needed more public transport options.
Just 12 people, of 164 votes, said there was sufficient public transportation.

On Facebook, Kylie Annef said: “The western and northern suburbs need far better public transport options, including improved timetables that adequately service school and peak-hour commuters.”
But Transport and Main Roads Minister Mark Bailey said their position hadn’t changed and they were continuing to actively develop “a safe and accessible solution as a priority.
“I am aware of ongoing issues relating to public transport near Yawalpah Road at Pimpama Junction Shopping Centre,” he said on Wednesday.
