A HIGH-density tower is set to be built on a suburban street directly on the Nerang River.
Developer Cannes Ave Pty Ltd has put forward plans for a 15-storey unit tower in southern central Surfers Paradise, just a short distance from the $1 billion Jewel complex.

The complex, planned for a 2339 sqm site on Cannes Ave will have 96 units and 228 bedrooms, split between 60 two-bedroom and 36 three-bedroom apartments.
There will be a total of 119 carparks for residents with a further eight for visitors.

Reaching a height of 48.2 metres, it sits within the unlimited height restriction zone in Surfers Paradise.
It will replace a series of small 1960s-era houses.
It will go before the council’s planning committee later this year.
