A SUBURBAN street is set to be transformed, with a developer planning to build a tower in one of the first large-scale projects revealed on the Gold Coast this year.
Genesis Chevron has filed a development application for a 16-storey tower on Chevron Island’s Parneno St.
According to documents lodged with the Gold Coast City Council the tower’s purpose is yet to be determined, but options include an apartment building or use as short-term accommodation.
It is the ninth tower proposed for Chevron Island in the past decade.
Planning documents pitch the project as adding to the area’s skyline.
“The proposed development is of bespoke architectural design, adopting a form and character which ensures a high-quality living environment which will be provided within the proposed apartments and their outdoor private spaces,” the application states.
There will be 71 carparking spaces provided.
