A high-end luxury “skyhome” tower is planned for a Palm Beach site just a handful of metres away from the beach and some of the Gold Coast’s most expensive property.

A LUXURY tower with million dollar views will be built in Palm Beach.

The eight-level tower is earmarked for a 460 sqm site between the Gold Coast Highway and Jefferson Lane near Palm Beach Surf Life Saving Club.

It is the latest in a seres of towers to be put forward for Palm Beach as some residents of the suburb rally against increased high-density development.

The new tower, put forward by developers Jon and Sharon Morrish, will have just five three-bedroom units, including a three-storey, four-bedrom penthouse which will look out over the beach and ocean.

Each unit will have a private balcony and swimming pool.

A proposed shop was scrapped after a meeting with council staff.

The Jefferson Lane frontage will be widened because of council rules requiring a 1.5m strip between the tower and the road.

The existing house on the site will be demolished to make way for the project if it is approved by the council’s planning committee early next year.
