“It’s going to be fantastic because it will have public amenities and space for two sporting clubs,” she said.
“The building will have state-of-the-art facilities including a massive conference room as well as plenty of change rooms for both men and women.
“This is an issue across the city as participation in sports grows among women we found there were not enough facilities for them.”
Lighting and 327 carparking spaces have already been installed at the fields, which are currently being used by the Coomera Colts and Ormeau Bulldogs.
According to planning documents filed with the council, the club will have a function centre which will be open to hire by the community and bring in revenue to support it.
The Great Sand Circuit clubhouse will be run by Council’s parks and recreational services staff and leased to a new soccer club which will operate there.
