Though the Federal election has not been called, Minister Karen Andrews supporters have begun to erect signs across the Gold Coast, covering Burleigh and Broadbeach.
The early preparation follows speculation that the Prime Minister will hold off calling the election until the next week, for a polling date of May 18th.
It was previously believed an election, set to run for a minimum 33 days would be called over this weekend.

A Gold Coast City Council spokesman said there were no restrictions preventing candidates from erecting signage before an election is called.
Council acts on behalf of TMR when enforcing public health and safety risks.
Local Government Officers act on complaints.
Examples of public health and safety risks on roads and footpaths include signage on street furniture, guard rails and traffic signs, when unsecured on the carriageway of a road or is likely to obstruct pedestrian or bicycle movement.
