Come Alive: The Greatest Showman circus spectacular to launch five-city Australian tour
Hugh Jackman's blockbuster musical reimagined as a jaw-dropping circus extravaganza will visit five Australian cities from next year.
A Big Top circus spectacular inspired by Hugh Jackman’s award-winning The Greatest Showman blockbuster is heading our way.
COME ALIVE! The Greatest Showman Circus Spectacular will feature acrobatics, aerial acts and the anthemic hits of the Hollywood movie.
“With COME ALIVE! we aim to transport our audiences into a circus dream, and create a show for anyone who loves great music, thrilling action and spectacular entertainment,” creative director Simon Hammerstein said.
“The uniqueness of our show allows us to blend multiple entertainment forms into one singular event, bursting with joy and reimagining this extraordinary music to tell a new, modern story of what it takes to follow your dreams.”
Hammerstein is coincidentally the grandson of the great American lyricist Oscar Hammerstein II, one half of the legendary Rodgers and Hammerstein duo, who won eight Tony Awards and Two Academy Awards.
His grandfather’s acclaimed productions included The King and I, The Sound of Music, South Pacific and Oklahoma.
COME ALIVE! has been playing to sellout audiences in London since opening in October last year with the season extended multiple times.
An all-new Australian cast will be introduced for the run of shows here that kick off at Sydney’s Entertainment Quarter on May 26 before the production heads to Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane and Melbourne.
Beloved songs from the film to feature in the shows will include Rewrite The Stars, A Million Dreams and This Is Me.
Zac Efron, Zendaya and Michelle Williams of course appeared alongside Jackman in the 2017 movie that was based on the life of PT Barnum, of the famed Barnum & Bailey Circus.
COME ALIVE! tickets go on sale on Wednesday, December 10, via comealiveshow.com.au.
