It was hard to miss a bargain at the Toowoomba Swap with collectors and the like walking away with their hands and hearts full.
The event, hosted by Darling Downs Veteran and Vintage Motor Club, brought thousands to the Toowoomba Showgrounds on Saturday.
Hillcrest couple Cameron and Debbie Barnes left grinning from ear to ear, with the sports and Star Wars enthusiasts taking home Don Bradman memorabilia and a one metre tall Yoda.
Ms Barnes said it was her first time visiting the event which didn’t disappoint.
“We came home with loads of things, the reason we went was to look for parts for my 1957 Morris Minor,” she said.
Ms Barnes said the event provided not only an opportunity to find a bargain but aided in recycling and put money back into the local economy.
Toowoomba resident Cameron McKee also attended the event with his stall raising funds to go towards his group entry into the 2025 Variety Children’s Bash.
Mr McKee said while he had been attending swap meets for around seven years, 2024 was the first year the trio decided to join the fundraiser for disadvantaged kids and travel cross-country in their “Shaun the Sheep” themed car.
The group collects scrap metal and other parts as well as 10 cent cans which all go towards the fundraiser.
Anyone wanting to donate to the trio’s next cross-country trip can head to their Facebook page Car 6162.
