A KEY Chinese theme park operator is set to make its Australian debut with a major project on the Gold Coast.
Songcheng Performance Development issued a statement to the Shenzen stock exchange saying its board had approved the development of a major entertainment project aimed at Chinese visitors, named “Australian Legendary Kingdom”.
The project will be worth up to $800 million and will feature an “Aboriginal Cultural Village” a “Wild Australia” stage show and a “Mysterious Orient” precinct.
Songcheng entertainment parks draw millions of visitors each year to theatrical and musical productions and experiences.
“This overseas investment meets our overall development strategy and is a crucial step for Songcheng to become the No. 1 stage show company in the world,” said their statement to the stock exchange.
