A young woman is in a stable condition after being stabbed at a private address in Far North Queensland.
Authorities have confirmed the woman, in her 20s, was rushed to Mareeba hospital with stomach injuries after she was injured at a Mareeba address about 11.10pm on Tuesday.
“The patient had a wound on her abdomen. The offender was still on scene, as were police,” a Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said.
It follows a separate incident at 9.57pm on Tuesday whree two juveniles hit an adult in the head during a street fight on Byrnes Street, Marreeba.
“It looks like two juveniles approached a couple of people and there was an altercation on the street. An adult was struck in the head by an item and then the juveniles fled,” the spokesman said.
It is unknown whether both parties were known to each other at this stage.
QAS confirmed they were not called to the scene at the time of the incident.
