A new fashion outlet is bringing an effortless sense of cool for savvy Far North fashionistas with its first store opening outside the south east corner and Mackay.

A new Charcoal Clothing store opened in Cairns Central Shopping Centre earlier this month, marking the brand’s sixth store throughout the state including outlets in Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and Mackay.

The independently owned store employs a store manager and five retail assistants.

Charcoal Clothing marketing co-ordinator Mia Croft said the brand embodies an edgy sense of tough femininity.

“We aim to be the pieces in your wardrobe that help identify and express your sense of style, to celebrate your individuality, and inspire you to be your most confident self,” she said.

“Born in 2018 in Brisbane, Australia, with a vision to bring you a wardrobe that was underpinned by an effortless sense of cool, now, we deliver on-trend fashion worldwide, with new pieces landing each week; including our very own Charcoal Exclusive styles.”

In August, women’s clothing chain Gorman opened in Cairns’ largest shopping centre and Novo Shoes is also open at a new Cairns Central tenancy after being shut at a previous shop front for some time.

Cairns Central centre manager Christie-Lee Jackson was thrilled to welcome another sought after brand to the city retail hub.

“Our expanded fashion and beauty offerings cement our position as the largest and leading shopping destination in Tropical Far North Queensland,” she said.

Ms Croft said the Far North Queensland market had been identified early on by the brand since its launch in 2018.

“It is very exciting to move up north of Queensland. We always wanted a presence across Queensland and Cairns was always on our list early on,” she said.

“This move will be exciting not only for the current team but for the new upcoming team we will take on board in Cairns.

“We also look forward to sharing our brand to a whole new demographic in Cairns and to give individuals the ability to express their sense of style with our clothes.”

All garments in the Charcoal Clothing are designed exclusively for the suite of Queensland outlets.
