Woman hospitalised after vehicle crashes into creek off Bruce Highway, Bellenden Ker
A woman in her 70s has been hospitalised after her car veered off the highway and into a creek, south of Cairns.

A woman in her 70s has been taken to hospital in stable condition after being trapped in her vehicle which veered off the highway and into a creek south of Cairns on Wednesday afternoon.
Emergency services responded to reports of a single-vehicle incident at Bellenden Ker on the Bruce Hwy, at 4.30pm on Wednesday.
Queensland Ambulance service confirmed the woman sustained significant pelvic pain and was transported in a stable condition to Cairns hospital.
Earlier, a Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said the woman was trapped in the car, which had veered off into knee deep water at The Junction Creek Bridge.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman confirmed fire and rescue crews were assisting with the entrapment and the patient was stable.
She said the woman had complained of pelvic, leg and back pain.
It’s understood while it was reported to emergency services as the car departing the highway at 100km/h, there crash is not impacting traffic.
