Port Douglas bus driver loses his cool at passenger

A Far North shuttle bus driver has unleashed a foul-mouthed tirade at passengers with the incident captured on film.

A TikTok user uploaded the expletive-laden outburst during a trip, believed to have occurred last week, with the video going viral.

The passenger can be heard telling the driver “don’t tell us 20 minutes when it’s 45” in reference to how long they had been waiting to be picked up.

“It’s pretty simple,” the passenger says.

To say it triggered the driver would be an understatement.

“No it’s not f***ing simple, you haven’t got a f***ing clue, this is the most f***ed job in Port Douglas,” the driver retorts.

“Do you wanna do one day in this f***ing bus, when you are getting a phone call every three f***ing minutes and every c*** wants to know what f***ing time.”

He then proceeds to ask him “where the f*** do you wanna go c***?”

The video was captioned “Australian Bus Drivers” with an upside down smile emoji on TikTok.

It could not be confirmed what disciplinary action, if any, was handed down by the company.

A Port Douglas shuttle company owner, who did not want his business named and is not connected with the incident in any way, said some drivers in the normally relaxed tourist town had been under “heavy stress” with the town heaving with tourists.

He said staffing issues had put undue pressure on many workers.

“Everyone is short staffed. A lot of drivers are doing overtime and the pressure is on for everyone,” he said.
“Most of the restaurants are suffering too, instead of opening seven days they are opening for four days.
“It’s the same with the transport companies, everyone is struggling for staff.
“It’s creating a bit of heavy stress everywhere.”
