A NEW and bespoke wine bar recently opened in the heart of Cairns has been designed to radiate the familiarity of a neighbourhood corner store.

Now open on the ground floor of the Bailey hotel Arte by Crystalbrook specialises in a boutique range of biodynamic Australian and international wines.

An artisan deli-style menu of charcuterie and local Atherton Tableland cheeses will complement wines and celebrate fresh produce.

“We’re excited to bring a warm and inviting neighbourhood bar to Cairns, where you can sit down and chat with our knowledgeable bartender and get surprising, unique suggestions that will give you a new-found appreciation for interesting wines,” Crystalbrook Bailey general manager Lisa Brown said.

The new wine bar will host a constantly changing selection of artwork hung on the walls in a move to attract lovers of art, wine and good conversation.

Sustainable wines will be a focus including those developed by Australian brand The Hidden Sea, who have committed to removing 10 plastic bottles from the ocean for every wine bottle sold.

“You’ll walk out of Arte on first name basis with the bartender, and with a brand new favourite drop or two,” Ms Brown said.

The 217 room Crystalbrook Bailey opened in November 2019.
