Kyva Antonio Roberson charged with stalking after allegedly being found under woman’s bed

A man who allegedly stalked a woman for a month and posed as a police officer before being found hiding under her bed has appeared in Cairns Magistrates Court.

A man who allegedly stalked a woman for a month and posed as a police officer while texting her before he was found hiding under her bed appeared in Cairns Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Police allege Kyva Antonio Roberson stalked a woman victim known to him for about a month, starting in May this year.

Mr Roberson, 23, allegedly posed as a police officer while texting the victim.

Police say officers found him hiding under the victim’s bed on Tuesday afternoon, after receiving information about his possible whereabouts.

He was also allegedly found possessing dangerous drugs and associated paraphernalia when taken into custody.

He was charged with one count each of stalking, contravention of a domestic violence order, possess dangerous drugs, and possess drug utensils.

Held in the watch house overnight, Mr Roberson’s case was adjourned to August 2 and he was granted bail.
