Madeleine Joan Lewin remains in custody, pathology report to be disclosed to her lawyers

A sex worker charged with causing the death of a Brisbane businessman in what police allege was a sex act gone wrong remains in custody.

A SEX worker charged with causing the death of a Brisbane businessman in what police allege was a sex act gone wrong remains in custody.

Madeleine Joan Lewin was charged on August 17, 2020, with one count of manslaughter over the death of 52-year-old Brisbane auditor Anthony Brady.

During a mention of her matters in the Cairns Magistrates Court on Wednesday afternoon, Ms Lewin’s lawyer said she had received a “partial brief” of evidence from the prosecution.

The prosecution told the court a pathologist’s report and DNA statements were received on Tuesday and would be disclosed to Lewin’s lawyer by close of business Thursday.

The manslaughter charge was adjourned to be mentioned again on August 11, and Lewin was remanded in custody.

Lewin is also charged with obstructing a police officer and public nuisance.

Those matters were set down for hearing in October.
