Traffic has remained at a standstill on the Kennedy Highway, blocking both lanes on the Macalister Range.
It is believed a tree fell across the road around 6.55am, causing traffic to block in both directions.
The Department of Transport and Main Roads has been undertaking repairs on the range since January, following extensive damage from the aftermath of Cyclone Jasper.
