BRINGING old-fashioned puzzles and board games back into vogue is the aim of Yungaburra businesswoman Sophie Foster, who will open her new store on August 27.
Pluto & Nessie’s is at 20 Eacham Rd, Yungaburra, and will be open from Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 3pm, and on market days from 7am to 3pm.
It also has a strong online presence showcasing jigsaw puzzles, board games, comic books and graphic novels.
Ms Foster said puzzles and games could reconnect people.
“We stock sustainable, beautiful jigsaw puzzles from amazing companies, board games for every occasion and hand curated terrariums,” she said.
“Our overall mission is to bring analog fun back to everybody – life has been hard recently and reconnecting with the people around us has never been more important.
“I have always loved jigsaw puzzles and board games and often used them as a way to take a break and a moment for myself.
“My hope is to let everybody know that it’s okay to take a break, turn your phone off and enjoy quality time with the people around you.”
Ms Foster said there was a plan to make jigsaw puzzles in-house, and an emphasis on sustainability.
