South Australian Police arrest 34-year-old woman after man’s body found in Port Lincoln home

A former reality TV star has been arrested and charged with murder after a man’s body was found inside a home in major fishing town.

A former reality TV star has been arrested and charged with murder following the discovery of a man’s body inside a home in Port Lincoln.

The former TV contestant, whose identity has been suppressed, is accused of murdering her partner.

Emergency services were called to the Flinders Highway property about 3.25pm on Thursday, police said, on reports of a “small fire”.

“When police entered the property, they located the man’s body inside the premises,” the statement read.

The 34-year-old Port Lincoln woman was arrested and charged with the man’s murder.

She appeared at Adelaide Magistrates Court on Friday and was refused bail.

SA Police Assistant Commissioner Ian Parrott, speaking on Friday afternoon, said the man and woman were in a relationship.

“It is still very early stages in this investigation … there are a number of inquiries to be made and there are a number of things we still don’t know,” he said.

Assistant Commissioner Parrott said the scene was “complex” and it would take some time to understand what had occurred.

The arrested woman and the man both lived at the address.

The cause of the man’s death is not yet known, he said.

“There are a range of things at the scene that need to be worked through,” he said.

“It is a very complex scene.”

The assistant commissioner said it was not a random incident and there was no threat to the community.

Port Lincoln is a major fishing town located in the state’s Eyre Peninsula, west of Adelaide.

Major Crime Investigation Branch detectives and Forensic Response Section officers flew to the scene on Thursday night to help local officers with the investigation.

Suppression orders are currently in place for the identity of the man and the woman.
