Chilling CCTV has captured the moment gunmen opened fire on a home in Sydney’s northwest, before fleeing in a black SUV.
A major police probe was launched on Friday after gunshots were fired into a home and a vehicle was found burnt Marsden Park overnight.
In a statement, NSW Police said officers from the Riverstone Police Command Area were called to a Marsden Park address about 10.45pm on Thursday, following reports that shots had been fired into a house on Steeple Pl.
No injuries were reported, though police are still investigating who the intended target was.
Shortly after, a car was found alight in a park in the suburb of Girraween – about 20km away from the Steeple Pl address where the house was shot at.
Fire and Rescue NSW crews extinguished the blaze shortly after arriving at Oramzi Rd about 11.20pm, but the car had been completely destroyed.
CCTV from a neighbouring property captured the moment a black SUV pulled up in the small neighbourhood in the pouring rain.
In the footage obtained by 9News, two men are seen exiting the vehicle before the shooting.
They then get back into the car before it speeds off into the night.
It is understood no one was inside the property at the time of the shooting and that eight shots were fired into the home’s second floor window.
Police have established crime scenes at both locations and are investigating whether the two incidents are linked.
Forensics officers remained at the scene later on Friday morning, analysing multiple bullet holes in the second-storey windows on the front facade.
No arrests have been made.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
