A male pedestrian has been rushed to hospital with critical injuries after he was struck by a bus in Melbourne’s north.

A pedestrian who was struck by a bus in Melbourne’s north is fighting for life in hospital.

Emergency services rushed to the intersection of Tyler St and Plenty Rd in Preston following reports of a collision about 2.30pm on Tuesday.

“The male pedestrian was taken to hospital with critical injuries,” a police spokesman said.

“The bus driver stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.”

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have closed Plenty Rd in both directions while they carry out their investigation.
