All four people were then taken to Wollongong Hospital each in stable conditions.

Hundreds of people had been at the park for Eid al-Fitr, an Islamic day of celebration marking the end of a month of fasting from dawn to sunset as part of Ramadan.

Hosted by Masjid As-Salaam, also known as the Berkeley Mosque, the family-friendly festival included amusement rides and market stalls.

It’s understood council workers were in the process of removing the fallen tree on Monday.
