A man has been shot dead in a public park next to a shopping centre, sparking a major police investigation.
A man has been shot dead in a public park south of Brisbane overnight.
The man was found with a gunshot wound in Hugh Muntz Park at Beenleigh, next to the Beenleigh Marketplace shopping centre, at about 10.40pm on Tuesday.
He died at the scene.
A crime scene has been established and the park has been cordoned off.
Police believe the shooting was targeted and the parties were known to each other.
A spokesman told NewsWire there is no ongoing threat to the community.
