A wide-scale search continues for a man who was last seen entering the ocean on Boxing Day, as multiple drownings have been reported across NSW this week.

A wide-scale search continues for a man who has last seen entering the water at a popular beach on the NSW north coast, as the body of another man was found in the water hundreds of kilometres south.

Emergency services were called after Taewoo Kim, 21, failed to return to his accommodation about 9.30pm on Friday.

It is understood he was last seen about 1pm on Thursday, when he entered waters at Moonee Beach, off Dammerel Crescent Emerald Beach, north of Coffs Harbour.

Police have since found items believed to belong to Taewoo at Moonee Beach.

Local police, with the assistance of the Marine Area Command, SES, Surf Life Saving and Marine Rescue NSW are continuing to search of the area for any sign of the 21-year-old.

Taewoo is described as being of Asian appearance, of slim build, about 175cm tall, with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about Taewoo’s whereabouts is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

It comes after emergency services pulled the body of a man from the water off Bass Point Tourist Rd, Shell Cove, about 11.20am on Saturday.

While the body is yet to be formally identified, police believe the man’s death is not suspicious.

Investigations continue while a report will be prepared for the Coroner.

It is the second death in waters off the NSW’s South Coast since Christmas Day, after a man drowned when he was caught in a rip at a popular beach on Boxing Day.

Emergency services were called to South Bombo Beach at Kiama shortly before 5pm on Thursday, after reports members of the public were performing CPR on a man who had been pulled from the water.

Police assisted in the CPR until NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived.

Tragically, the 52-year-old man could not be revived and died at the scene.

Police were told the man was swimming in the surf with an 18-year-old male relative when they became caught in a rip.

Several members of the public rushed into the surf and managed to remove the pair from the water.

The 18-year-old man was uninjured.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.

It comes after a woman drowned in a separate incident at an unpatrolled section at Werri Beach at Gerringong on Saturday.
