Man arrested after woman’s body found in western Sydney bushland
Police investigating the discovery of a woman’s body in bushland in western Sydney on Sunday have arrested a man.

A woman found dead in isolated bushland in Sydney’s west has been identified following a man’s arrest.
The body of western Sydney mother Leanne Akrap, 47, was found by a passerby in a reserve off Irwrin St at Werrington just after 1pm on Sunday.
Police established a crime scene and local detectives, with the assistance of the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, began commenced an investigation under Strike Force Dowerin.
Police also setup a crime scene at Ms Akrap’s home which was nearby, The Daily Telegraph reported.
Following extensive inquiries, officers arrested a 47-year-old man at a home on Powell Street, Hobartville, about 6pm on Monday.
He has been taken to Windsor Police Station, where inquiries continue.
Police found other items, including clothing, around the body.
“The area of the reserve in question is quite isolated, it appears the body has been there for a period of time,” Detective Superintendent Trent King said on Sunday.
Asked how long the body had been there, Supt King said: “Certainly a period of time, it’s very difficult to ascertain at this stage … We’re hoping in the next couple of days through post-mortem examination and the (forensic examination of the scene), we will have further information about that.
