Supermarket giant Woolworths has recalled a children’s snack amid fears it could be contaminated with glass.

The recall of Grinny Pea Puffs Chicken Flavour (18 bags in a six-pack) only effects snacks with the use-by date of August 23, 2025.

Approximately 8000 units have been impacted by the potential contamination, a Woolworths spokesperson said to 9News.

The pea puffs had been sold in Woolworths supermarkets and Metro stores nationally and online.

“Customers should avoid consuming the affected product and return it to their nearest Woolworths Supermarket or Metro store for a full refund,” the spokesperson said.

The supermarket giant apologised for any inconvenience caused by the recall and said more information could be found via the toll-free customer service number on 1800 000 610, on the website or through the Woolworths app.

The recall comes days after a supermarket wide recall effecting Woolworths, Coles and Aldi, where numerous spinach and stir fry products were pulled from shelves citing a potential microbial contamination.

Up to date information on food recalls is available on the Food Standards Australia and New Zealand website.
