Australians have been warned not to take any “Big Penis USA” tablets after the medical watchdog found it contained undeclared medications.
The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) put out an urgent warning on Thursday against the Big Penis USA pills after testing the product and finding it contained sildenafil.
“Big Penis USA tablets pose a serious risk to your health and should not be taken,” the TGA said.
Sildenafil is a prescription-only drug that is commonly sold under the brand name Viagra and is used to treat erectile dysfunction.
It may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels.
It’s particularly concerning for people with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or heart disease who are often prescribed medication containing nitrates.
“The supply of Big Penis USA tablets containing undisclosed sildenafil is illegal,” the organisation warned.
The TGA is now working with the Australian Border Force (ABF) to help stop future shipments of Big Penis USA tablets from entering Australia.
The ABF will now seize and destroy any Big Penis USA products that they intercept at the border.
The products are not sold in Australian stores, with those purchasing the product doing so over the internet.
The TGA has advised consumers to exercise extreme caution when purchasing medicines from unknown overseas internet sites as they may contain undisclosed and potentially harmful ingredients.
