Legendary Aussie band The Church will take the stage in the Top End for the first time in December, as part of a new tour playing acoustic versions of some of their biggest hits.
The band will play at the Darwin Entertainment Centre on December 19, the final show of the 15 date The Singles Tour: A Career Retrospective.
The Church formed in 1980 in Sydney and became known internationally for their signature guitar and dream pop sound.
Their signature hit song Under The Milky Way has featured in films such as Donnie Darko, AFL Grand Finals, and commercials.
In 2010, The Church was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame, joining iconic Aussie musicians such as Paul Kelly, Kylie Minogue and Midnight Oil.
This new tour will see them play 20 singles from across the band’s 45-year history, including hits like Electric Lash, Reptile and When You Were Mine.
The band’s currently lineup includes co-founder Steve Kilbey and Ian Haug, formerly lead guitarist of Powderfinger.
Tickets for the December 19 show are available now, with six other shows across the country already sold out.
