October 28, 10am: A 38-year-old man has received medical treatment after a rock was thrown at him from a car full of youths “driving dangerously” through Alice Springs, police say.

Police said the man was hit by the rock when it was thrown from a group of youths behind the wheel of a blue Holden Commodore, who were “driving dangerously in the Alice Springs CBD” at about 5.30pm Saturday.

Police said the vehicle “is not believed to have been stolen”.

“Police developed a resolution strategy involving tyre deflation devices; however, the vehicle fled the area upon sighting police and the offenders remain outstanding,” police said.

Police are urging anyone with more information to get in contact on 131 444, quoting reference P24296462.
