Geelong defender Oisin Mullin has been granted leave to attend his sister’s wedding and will be unavailable for selection this weekend after flying to Rome.
The Irish Cat, who had 21 disposals and seven marks in the VFL on Sunday, will be back at the club next week.
Mullin, 24, cut his long locks last week to raise funds for the construction of a children’s cancer facility in his home county of Mayo in Ireland.
The speedster has played two games this year against Adelaide and Hawthorn, including 15 touches in the win over the Hawks, bringing his career tally to eight matches.
Mullin inked a one-year extension with Geelong in March tying him to the club until the end of 2025.
The Mayo product and Cam Guthrie might be the only recognised senior players not out there, with the Cats expecting captain Patrick Dangerfield (hamstring), spearhead Tom Hawkins (managed) and defender Jake Kolodjshnij (managed) to all return against Brisbane on Saturday.
Guthrie is tipped to be back in the next 1-3 weeks with coach Chris Scott saying last week that his return was “imminent”.
Developing ruckmen Joe Furphy (ankle) and Mitch Edwards (back) are set to be back in action in the next fortnight.
