A man has been arrested after a woman was allegedly stabbed to death in a home in Sydney’s western suburbs.
Emergency services were called to a share-home on Great Western Highway in Kingswood about 1.40pm on Monday, where they found a 21-year-old woman with two stab wounds to her chest.
Paramedics worked for an extensive period of time to save the woman but she died at the scene.
Following the death, Police Superintendent Trent King said police launched a search for a male who is believed to have been in a domestic relationship with the woman.
“It’s alleged that male in a domestic relationship with this person is the perpetrator of this incident and had caused those injuries to the female, he is now wanted in relation to her death,” he said.
Police have since arrested a 22-year-old man.
The man was taken into custody about 7.10 on Monday evening and taken to Penrith Police Station.
He was arrested without incident and is assisting police with inquiries.
Prior to his arrest, Superintendent King said the alleged offender was last seen running from the unit complex.
Neither the victim or the man were known to police for domestic violence related incidents.
