A man has become entangled with his dog while fishing at a popular fishing spot in Far North Queensland.

Emergency services were called to help the 70-year-old man “come unstuck” from his dog at O’Shea Esplanade, Machans Beach, on Saturday, June 28 at 4pm.

It is understood he was fishing when his lure got hooked on his dog and then himself.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the man was uninjured.

“The fishing lure (went) into the dog and now attached to owner,” he said.

The man did not require medical treatment and the two became unstuck a short time later.
