A violent road rage incident in Melbourne’s northern suburbs has left a man in hospital and a group of motorcyclists on the run.
Police understand a 46-year-old man was driving a black Volkswagen Golf north on Sydney Rd in Roxburgh Park about 10.30pm on Thursday when a group of motorcyclists began driving erratically in front of him.
Police were told the Donnybrook man was assaulted by the group of motorcyclists at the intersection of Somerton Rd.
The man was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The group of motorcyclists caused significant damage to the man’s car by smashing in the windows before fleeing the scene on their bikes towards Pascoe Vale Rd.
“They remain outstanding at this stage,” a statement from Victoria Police read.
