US police officers were shocked to find the body of a woman in the boot of a vehicle after a high-speed car chase in Texas on Saturday morning ended in a crash.
Around 8am, state troopers received reports of a reckless driver on the I-10 in Beaumont, Texas. A trooper spotted the Honda, but the driver didn’t pull over and a pursuit ensued.
During the chase, the driver lost control of the car and smashed into a concrete barrier, according to Fox26 Houston.
But it was then that the real drama unfolded, as officers discovered a woman’s body in the boot of the car. She was later identified as Briana Teirra Johnson, 28, from Houston. Her death is being treated as a homicide, according to reports.

Investigations into the circumstances of her death are ongoing while an autopsy has been ordered.
Victor Campbell Jr, 35, from Fresno, was taken to a hospital and later discharged but remains in police custody.
He has been charged with felony evading arrest, driving while intoxicated, tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse, according to a police report.
Police searched a house on Sunday morning in Houston that sources said belonged to Ms Johnson, KTRK-TV reported, citing sources who said Mr Campbell also lived there from time to time.
