A delivery driver has been caught on camera legging it after a massive brain fade saw his van slowly impact a parked Tesla while he was doing stretches on the footpath.
The footage shared on the hugely popular Dash Cam Owners Australia Facebook page shows the driver arriving at an Albion Park address, south of Sydney, on March 26.
The driver, who appears to be a private contractor, is seen pulling up behind a parked car before getting out to deliver a package shortly before 10am.
Oddly, the driver is then seen doing a series of stretches on the footpath with a package in hand.
Meanwhile, the parked car’s rearview dashcam footage shows the van slowly creeping forward, eventually hitting it at low speed.
Hearing the collision, the driver leaps towards his vehicle.
Contentiously, he gets back in the van, still having not delivered the package, and takes off in a hurry.
The anonymous user who submitted the video to Dash Cam Owners Australia suspected the handbrake was left off.
A NSW police spokeswoman told news.com.au that the Tesla’s owner reported the incident to them, and inquiries are continuing.
The owner also managed to capture numerous clear angles of the collision, as is a feature of late-model Teslas
The footage showed negligible damage to the van, though the parked car’s panel is out of view.
Despite the nature of the incident, the comment section saw humour in what unfolded.
“That’s his magician’s warm up – now watch as I make my van move without touching it,” one woman joked.
Another suggested: “Get something (else) delivered so he comes around and you can have a nice chat with him!”
“Lucky you have the number plate,” another said.
