Updated Hyundai Ioniq 5 revealed

Hyundai is giving its Ioniq 5 electric SUV a big boost as new rivals for Toyota, Subaru and Volkswagen prepare to launch.
Headlining the updated range is a new sporty-flavoured N-Line variant and a larger battery across the range.
The upgraded Ioniq 5 is now fitted with an 84kWh battery, up front 77.4kWh, which the brand says will boost its driving range. Hyundai has not said how much further it can drive yet.
The new N-Line version brings sporty styling with large 20-inch aluminium wheels, freshly designed bumpers and side skirts that give it a more aggressive look.
Inside the N-Line has a dedicated N-line steering wheel and dashboard, metal pedals, black headliner, sports seats with N logo and red contrast stitching.
For the rest of the range Hyundai has slightly tweaked the exterior styling, which has resulted in the Ioniq increasing in length.
It also has a bigger rear spoiler and new aerodynamic wheels to help boost its efficiency.
Hyundai has made some changes inside too by making it more functional by reworking the physical steering wheel buttons and redesigning the centre console.
A new shock absorber makes for a smoother commute according to Hyundai by reducing vibrations from the road.
A range of advancements have helped to make the Ioniq 5 more stable and agile when driving and it is now quieter than before.
Hyundai Australia has confirmed the updated Ioniq 5 and the new N-Line variant will arrive locally in the middle of this year.
Final local prices and specifications will be announced closer to the vehicle’s arrival.
The updated models will sit below the recently launched Ioniq 5 N.
That car is $120,000 and brings electric performance to a new level.
Powered by front and rear electric motors with 478kW of combined power, it can rocket to 100km/h in 3.4 seconds. It matches the straight-line thrust of more expensive blue-blooded performance heroes such as the Porsche 911 GTS or BMW M3 CS.
It is extremely customisable with the driver able to change settings for power, steering, suspension, limited-slip differential, head-up display, stability control and active sounds.
