An Uber driver has been rushed to hospital after being assaulted by two passengers who stole his car in Sydney’s north-west.
The 49-year-old ride-share driver picked up two men who booked a ride just after 12.30am at an address in Box Hill.
The men directed the driver to several locations, including a service station for food, before assaulting the Uber worker at an intersection and taking off with his car.
The Uber driver ran to a nearby home for help where the residents called triple zero about 1.30am. He was taken to Blacktown Hospital with head and facial injuries.
Police have now issued a public appeal to find the men who drove away in the white 2018 VW Tiguan.
Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000 or contact Parramatta Police Station.
“No further information is available at this stage,” NSW Police said in a statement.
The appeal has since been issued to the NSW Police social media pages.
