More than 400 runners take part in Griffith Sport Logan Fun Run

KEANU Korovulavula had one main goal when he stepped up to the line at the Griffith Sport Logan Fun Run on June 17 — to beat his mum.

The eight-year-old, who has Autism Spectrum Disorder, ran in the 5km event as part of Keanu’s Squad with his cousins, mum and 12 others.

On top of tackling the run, Keanu is also raising funds for the AEIOU Foundation — the official charity partner of the event.

His mother, Renee Child said the charity had helped Keanu immensely.

“The AEIOU Foundation is a charity that is very close to our family’s heart and does a lot of work for kids like Keanu,” Ms Child said.

More than 400 competitors took part in three events on the day — the 10km, 5km and the 1km junior dash.

The cross-country style course started and finished at the Griffith University Logan Campus and traversed around Lake Ellerslie, through the Arboretum and Riverdale Park.
