Wife’s unbelievable response to Christian husband’s cheating

A married couple have gone viral after a brutally honest admission about the state of their relationship after being riddled with infidelity.

The psychology of cheating

The wife of a Christian pastor who openly admits “chasing other women” has revealed she would help her husband get ready for dates with his “side chicks” in a bid to save their marriage.

Reginald Steele, the founder of Kingdom Church in Phoenix, Arizona, and his wife Kelley recently appeared on an episode of the ‘Dear Future Wifey’podcast, where they discussed the hardships of their marriage.

During the 1.5 hour conversation with host Laterras Whitfield, the couple, who have been married for 32 years, talked in detail about the highs and lows of their decades-long union – including the pastor’s seemingly unwavering penchant for adultery.

But while many women would walk away after countless cheating incidents, Kelley, 52, was determined to keep her vows, leaving many stunned after she revealed the unbelievable lengths she took to stand by her husband.

It was a long road to forgiveness for the high-school sweethearts who said their marriage was riddled with infidelity from the start.

“I was OK with it as long as I was first,” she said, stating there was one rule, that Reginald had to be open and honest about who he was seeing outside of their marriage.

“I’d tell her, ‘You’re my starter, but I got other ones on the bench’,” he told the host.

Eventually though, his extramarital antics wore her down.

Kelley said there was a “reason” she stuck around, claiming that after seeing her own mother leave her father, she’d vowed to never do the same, believing that if her mum had forgiven him they all would have been able to be together as a family.

Reginald, who said he only committed to Kelley after the pair accidentally fell pregnant, admitted he would also mock his wife for not sharing his faith, telling her she had “no value and no worth”.

But shortly after tying the knot in 1993, the pastor “left this ‘holy lifestyle’” and went “back to smoking weed, drinking, chasing women”.

“We would fight. Our house became the party house,” she said, stating their marriage had become so rocky she would be “chasing him with knives,” “jumping on hoods of cars,” and “fighting women”.

At rock bottom, Kelley attempted to leave, but had a change of heart at the last minute after she had a dream that he went back to preaching.

Reginald however said her refusal to walk away meant he had to be “disciplined and committed”, but he didn’t want to be either one, so he left.

In the days after he walked out, Kelley recalled “the enemy” spewing hateful thoughts in her mind like, “You’re not worthy of anything” and “He’ll never love you”.

But, in that moment, Kelley said she turned towards God and that was the changing point in their relationship.

“I had a radical heart shift from that moment. I just completely changed as a person,” she explained.

From that point on, she decided to let her husband stray, and instead of fight him on it – she would help him in an effort to prove she was the loving wife he needed.

“Although he would go out for weekends, I would literally help him get ready to go meet a side chick by ironing his clothes and getting him ready for the night,” she revealed, as her husband nodded while sat beside her.

She said she endured all this because “I didn’t want him to be lost. I wanted him to be in his purpose because of that one dream I had that lasted about two seconds.”

Reginald, 53, backed everything she said up, stating he saw a vast difference in Kelley’s behaviour after having her first encounter with God.

He said he saw his wife go from bleaching his clothes and throwing his toothbrush in the toilet, to asking him what he wanted for dinner.

When the host asked why he kept “going back”, he replied: “She lived down the street, but all my other girlfriends lived 30 minutes away”. She would also feed me and give me money.”

Reginald also claimed Kelley didn’t fit his personal “preferences”, stating: “When I met her she was 175 (79kgs) and I’m used to 125 (57kgs) and she was the wrong colour, so I’m like, ‘man you’re messing up my whole flow’.”

Since the interview was released last week, it has sent shockwaves through social media, with many horrified at how Reginald openly admits to treating his wife.

“Is having a man really THAT good???” one questioned.

“May this love NEVER EVER find me,” said another.

As one claimed: “This is a delusion I never want to experience.”

As others pointed out adultery is considered to be a sin within Christianity.

The fierce backlash has prompted the Dear Future Wifey host to respond on its official Instagram page, stating the couple’s marriage troubles were in the first 5 years of a 32-year union.

“My mission has always been clear — to increase marriage rates in the Black community and decrease divorce statistics by equipping couples with real tools for lasting love,” Laterras R. Whitfield wrote.

“The Steeles shared their truth with bold transparency, reflecting on challenges from the first 5 years of their 32-year marriage.”
