THE Star Gold Coast will unveil its new Asian restaurant on Wednesday – and it comes with a local twist using Australian ingredients.
Cantonese restaurant Uncle Su will be headed by executive chef Song Yao Su who has worked in Las Vegas and Hong Kong alongside Pui Wing Hui.
He said guests could expect a blend of classic Cantonese dishes as well as a selection of signature Beijing and Szechuan dishes.
“Just as I grew up eating and cooking with my own family, my dishes at Uncle Su are uncomplicated and authentic, making the most of the amazing seafood and produce that Queensland has to offer,” he said.
Chef Song’s signature dish is Peking duck marinated in his own secret sauce for 24 hours.
A specialty dim sum and array of seafood including clams served in a secret sauce will also be on offer, while tea – four of which will be premium and cost up to $90 per pot – will play an important part in the experience.
A total five private dining rooms that each seat up to 12 guests will be on offer as will a semi-private room that has capacity to host up to 36 guests.
The restaurant will be open Wednesday-Sunday, 12-2.15pm and 5.30-9.45pm.
