Tahlia Giumelli blasts Nadia Bartel for breaking lockdown

The Sydney model said she was “saddened” to see the Melbourne influencer was breaking the rules when others were sacrificing so much.

Nadia Bartel: fallout from the white powder video continues

Model Tahlia Giumelli has spoken out and condemned Nadia Bartel’s actions after she was filmed snorting a white powder at an illegal Melbourne gathering.

Nadia, 36, was yesterday fined $5452 for breaking lockdown orders and she has since been dropped from ambassador roles with several brands including JSHealth and Hairhouse Australia.

The Melbourne influencer, who was previously married to AFL star Jimmy Bartel, has also faced a wave of public criticism over the incident despite issuing an apology.

In an Instagram question and answer session Tahlia, 29, who is engaged to NRL star Tom Burgess, answered a question asking for her “thoughts on what Nadia Bartel did”.

While Tahlia said it was “hard to answer” as she doesn’t “want to publicly bash someone” she condemned Nadia’s decision to break lockdown rules.

“I personally don’t care what recreational activities people get up to but I feel saddened that people think it’s okay to break public health orders at this time,” she said.

“Everyone is struggling and sacrificing. Our healthcare workers are working their butt off especially in VIC and NSW.”

Tahlia also encouraged her followers to speak to their doctors about getting vaccinated so “we can all celebrate and be with our friends and family”.

After the video made headlines, Nadia issued a statement via Instagram on Friday apologising for her actions.

“Hi Everyone, I have let you all down by my actions,” she wrote.

“I take full responsibility and I am committed to taking all necessary steps to ensure I make better choices in future.

“To my family and friends, my business partners and the public health workers trying to keep us all safe, I am embarrassed and remorseful.

“I am truly and deeply sorry. I hope I can earn your forgiveness and, in time, your trust. Nadia.”

Despite owning her actions, the public backlash continues with some slamming her apology as “gutless”.

Vitamins brand JSHealth, which Nadia had been a long-term ambassador for, has also issued a statement confirming they are no longer working with her and condemning “illicit behaviour”.

“JSHealth fundamentally supports all public health orders in place to keep us safe in this hugely difficult time for so many. We do not tolerate illicit behaviour,” the brand said.

“Please know we have taken immediate action and will no longer be working with this individual – or anyone who does not align with our values.”
