Boasting wine service, chef menus and a dedicated couple’s room, the Gold Coast’s newest day spa promises an “unrivalled experience”.
Australia’s first Spa by JW debuts at the JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa on July 12, part of the Surfers Paradise property’s ongoing $35 million transformation.
Exclusive renders of the DBI-designed pamper palace reveal a foliage-filled outdoor space; six treatment rooms, including the signature couple’s room with its own lounge, ensuite stone bath and twin showers; wellness saunas; steam experience showers; and relaxation pods.
JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa general manager Ravinder Dhesi said Spa by JW had been under construction for six months.
“We are positioning ourselves at the top end of the market, for discerning travellers but locals as well,” he said.
“It’s for more than just a massage – the aesthetics, the treatments themselves and our expert therapists will make (visiting) an experience.”
The resort’s executive chef Paul Smart designed the spa menu, offered alongside a tea and wine service.
“The couple’s room is going to be our signature space,” Mr Dhesi said.
“We’re a family resort so we want to give our couples time to reconnect.”
The lavish new addition follows the opening of Chuan Spa at The Langham in November, capitalising on post-pandemic demand for high-end wellness tourism.
“It is a great privilege to open the very first Spa by JW in the Australia and New Zealand region, right here on the Gold Coast,” Mr Dhesi said.
“The general wellness mindset has become quite critical post-pandemic,
“People are looking to take time out and focus on themselves.”
