PETROL is in Brooke Hogan’s blood. “My dad is a bit of a car fanatic, so he used to drag me along to the Grand Prix when I was little,” she says.
Having grown up watching the Formula 1 with her revhead dad, the 24-year-old Melbourne model has now been named as this year’s female ambassador for the event.
As the face of the F1, Hogan is fulfilling a lifelong dream.
“I’ve been after this role for a while, so it’s exciting to be named the 2017 Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix ambassador,” she admits.
The hardest part of the role? Remembering her title: “It’s a bit of a tongue twister ...”
Hogan, who drives a Land Rover, wouldn’t trust herself behind the wheel of an F1 car, but is happy to get behind Australian driver Daniel Ricciardo when he takes to the track next month. “I’m biased because I’m an Aussie, but I’ll be cheering Danny Ric on.”
Away from the burning rubber, Hogan is looking forward to the entertainment off the track. At the Glamour on the Grid launch event, guests walk the Albert Park track in black tie.
“Walking down the red carpet through the pit lane on the road where they drive is surreal,” says Hogan, who will be hosting this year’s event.
After appearing on Australia’s Next Top Model in 2013 and amassing 630,000 followers on Instagram, the local beauty is no stranger to red carpets.
And having crossed the F1 ambassadorship off her list, she is now ready to take the next step in her career.
“It would be great if they brought the Victoria’s Secret show to Melbourne,” she jokes.
