Renowned Gold Coast restaurant Allure on Currumbin announces shock closure

A Gold Coast restaurant once ranked second in the country by TripAdvisor has shocked customers this morning by announcing its sudden closure.

When reviews go badly

ONE of the Gold Coast’s most renowned restaurants has shocked supporters this morning by announcing its sudden closure.

Once ranked the second best restaurant in the country by TripAdvisor, Allure on Currumbin revealed they were closing their doors less than a year after changing ownership.

The restaurant was purchased by now 21-year-old Ryan Humphries in July last year, who at the time expressed his desire to “get it back to the success it had under its original owners” before opening a second restaurant.

The announcement revealed the restaurant will be closing its doors permanently from today.

“Unfortunately, despite all of our fantastic diners and amazing reviews, we simply just did not have sufficient numbers to survive in this tough industry,” it read

“To all of our local and loyal customers we thank you for your continued support.

“Although business was not always the best, seeing the smiles on your faces from tasting the food and enjoying your experience definitely made it all worthwhile.”

The restaurant posted the announcement on Facebook earlier today, where they’ve already received an outpouring of support from devastated locals.

“There will be a HUGE void in Gold Coast dining now ... you weren’t just a restaurant you were a food experience,” wrote one.

“I’m sorry that you were not better supported,” wrote another.

“I loved every one of my meals with you and hope that you will find a way to continue utilising your gift with food in the future.”
