Prince Louis isn’t hiding his feelings at the royals' latest public outing

Will and Kate’s youngest isn’t one for keeping up appearances – if he thinks something boring, he lets everyone know.

Since he was born, Prince Louis has captured our hearts because he acts so proudly, undeniably himself, and he does it with the whole world watching.

As a baby sitting on his mum’s hip during the Trooping the Colour event in 2019, Louis heartily sucked on his thumb, and then looked incredibly grumpy when forced to stop by his doting parents, Will and Kate.

Four years later, at his grandpa King Charles’ first Trooping the Colour as king, Louis made us laugh with his "new royal wave", waving both hands back and forth in unison like windscreen wipers, and enthusiastically imitating the planes as they soared over.

So it’s no surprise that at the royals’ latest public appearance that five-year-old Louis would steal the show, once again.

At Friday’s Royal International Air Tattoo in Gloucestershire, William, Kate and their three children took in the displays that celebrated the marvels of aviation as fans braved the rain to greet the family.

Although Louis dutifully waved at the crowds along with his brother George and sister Charlotte, there was no denying the youngest’s feeling about the event: boooooriiiiing.

Prince Louis bored at Air Tattoo

The Tattoo is the biggest military aviation show in the world, with jets, helicopters and historic planes on display.

More than 250 planes from 58 countries participate, and flying display teams like the Red Arrows are part of the show.

Nine-year-old George and eight-year-old Charlotte either find aviation much more interesting than their little brother, or they’re much better at pretending.

While Louis wandered away from his older siblings at the displays, George and Charlotte were on their best behaviour.

George, who first saw the show in 2016 when he was three, was greeting RAF staff and event organisers.

Prince Louis is growing up

Although it’s only been a short time since the Queen's Jubilee celebrations when four-year-old Louis pulled faces, covered his ears and screamed, and was told off for sucking his thumb, Louis’ behaviour at public events has definitely become a little more sedate since he turned five.

At King Charles' coronation, instead of obviously defying his mum, Louis just yawned openly as the family sat in Westminster Abbey observing the long ceremony.

Meanwhile Charlotte was captured having a sneaky pick of her nose.

While they waved to fans and smiled as expected to, by the time the balcony appearance rolled around, the two youngest children of the Prince and Princess of Wales looked well over it.
