White german shepherd, Nelson, and jack russell cross Mr Big, were both rescue dogs their owner Bente Dubniczki couldn’t say no to, and have since become big stars.

“I got Nelson from a pound were they were about to put him down as he was very difficult and aggressive,” she said. “Mr Big is from a puppy farm.”

A dog trainer for more than 37 years, Ms Dubniczki helped them overcome their anxieties and bad habits and turned them into film stars.

Nelson, 12, spent two weeks filming alongside Jason Momoa and Amber Heard in Aquaman and also starred in a children’s film last year, while Mr Big was in the ABC series The Hollowmen.

“We get paid for the day and most of the time it is just waiting for their part to come along.”

Both dogs have also been featured at the Ekka.
