OLIVER the koala is the face of the Gold Coast’s wildlife welfare crisis.
The adult male was rescued after he fell into a three metre borehole at a Gold Coast construction site.
It is believed he may have been in the hole for up to three days as nobody was on the site over the long weekend.

Oliver was rescued by Wildcare Australia and admitted to Currumbin Wildlife Hospital dehydrated, suffering from exposure to the cold and covered in mud.
He was treated with intravenous fluids, given a bath and is expected to make a full recovery.
Dr Michael Pyne told the Gold Coast Bulletin Oliver was one of the “lucky” ones.
After he recovers he will be released into bushland near where he was found.
Last month about 80 koalas were treated at Currumbin Wildlife Hospital, out of more than 500 that will be admitted during 2017.
