IT doesn’t seem that long since baby Bengal tigers Ravi and Baru arrived on the coast, but today the lively pair celebrated their second birthday at Tiger Island, Dreamworld.
Amid celebrations the duo were treated to balloons, cake and their favourite toys of all — some chewy cardboard boxes.
Dreamworld’s Tiger Island manager Patrick Martin-Vegue said the energetic pair, who are now over 150kg, were thrilled with their party favours.

“The balloons were a big hit with Ravi, he was having a great time popping them.”
“Baru wasn’t too interested, but he ended up with the cake,” he said.
While the two were tearing open presents and playfully popping balloons, Mr Martin-Vegue said that the day was also an opportunity to raise awareness to the dangers Bengal tigers are facing out in the wild.
“It is a great day for us, it gives the exposure of the tigers, but then we can also talk about how endangered this species is.”
“But this is just a fun way for us to highlight these problems,” he said.
With orange icing smeared into their fur, and the remnants of carefully wrapped cardboard boxes scattered across the enclosure, Mr Martin-Veugue joked that buying the pair the typical birthday gift was out of the question.
“If I gave them an iPad I doubt it would last too long,” he said.
