Chopper arrivals, private plunge pools and stargazing hammocks are among the perks at a newly unveiled retreat in the Gold Coast hinterland.
Pat’s Farm is the latest offering from family tourism dynasty O’Reilly’s, its six chalets pitched at the top end of the market.
CEO Shane O’Reilly said he was anticipating strong demand from luxury travellers, with bookings trickling in even before the property had been officially announced.
“We’ve got camping sites and safari tents to our traditional retreat, which is like a four-star family experience,” Mr O’Reilly said.
“This is the final cog – the five-star experience – taking us from $40 camping to starting at $1000 to $1400 a night luxury targeted at couples.
“We have two heli pads but we are going to add a third because we have guests with private choppers who tell us they also have friends with choppers and they want to bring them. We need another one.”
On a working cattle farm surrounded by World Heritage Lamington National Park, the new eco-retreat has been in the works since 2022, with ground breaking a year later on what Mr O’Reilly described as a “challenging” off-grid build.
“These are more than all the tiny homes around – these are architecturally designed and three times the size,” he said.
“There are six chalets up there and one of them is all access and you can also bring a small dog.
“They have private heated plunge pools, outdoor firepits, full kitchens and tremendous furnishings.
“They have magnificent views and it’s quite romantic being up there.
“It’s also very private. People don’t have to check in to reception, it’s all access by rego recognition, smart locks and QR codes.
